The Contingent Fee

The contingent legal fee is based on a fraction of what you get.  If you receive nothing, you owe no legal fee.  When there is no recovery, the client is only responsible for costs.

The contingent fee is part of the backbone of American justice.  Without the contingent fee, the complexities and costs of the legal system would prevent most people from hiring a lawyer.  By compensating a lawyer on a fraction of the monies received, an injured person can stand up to an insurance company, a big corporation, or a government agency and argue for compensation for losses more effectively than any other system allows.

Insurance companies and big corporations sit on hundreds of millions of dollars.  They employ thousands of people, and they only pay when claims are legitimized.  On any sizeable claim, the average person is at a huge disadvantage without legal help.  The contingent fee makes that legal help work.

Howard Toole Law Offices represents people in many situations where the contingent fee applies.  For information, call us at 406 728-4682.
